It's 2013!

First post of 2013.. It's crazy how quickly times passes and this Christmas is no exception.

It has been a great one catching up with family and friends, too much food as always but it wouldn't be the festive season of we didn't indulge ourselves a little!

I received lots of presents and have included a few in a collage to show you. A Pandora ring with a freshwater pearl, it is very cute and will dress up any outfit. I do love pearls!! Converse are a necessity and this grey pair will go with jeans and a white tee for a relaxed look.

The River Island scarf pictured was a present from my sister and I love it, so warm and cosy and looks great with any outfit, regardless of the season.

I'm scared and excited for what 2013 will bring for I feel I may make some changes, just not sure what they are yet!! Hopefully it will be one of the best yet, Happy New Year to all!

Latest Loves

I have been neglecting my blog of late but things have just been so busy what with work placement, compiling my special report and of course the dreaded job hunt. Anyway here's a quick post detailing a couple of my latest purchases. First up is this khaki and leather mix jacket, I got it in River Island priced at €73 but staff discount meant I got a little money off.. yay! It's currently in Topshop too, much the same but the sleeves are full length and its more expensive. I love it though and think it will be a staple piece for this winter! I like that you can wear it casually but you can also dress it up with heels and accessories.

I also picked these little beauties up in Penney's/Primark , love love love! They are limited edition so I was lucky to get them at all considering how quickly things sell out in this particular store. They are fab though and will dress upa simple black dress, a snip at only €22.

Shoes shoes and more shoes!

For anyone following this blog you have probably notices that shoes are a common theme and this post is no exception. I love shoes, well I love fashion in general but going through my purchases of late I have noticed more shoes have appeared in my wardrobe as opposed to anything else.

I am a devoted member of the 'high heels are a girl's best friend' school for I believe they can completely transform an outfit. A simple white shirt and black leather leggings look pretty great when topped off with black shoeboots or a simple pair of courts.
So back to my shoe wardrobe. I have one pair of Christian Louboutins. They are hot pink and I bought them to go with a dress for my 21st. However looking back I think I should probably have invested in a black or nude pair as I would have gotten more wear from those colours. That said, I adore them and they are simply fabulous!

Now onto my most recent shoe purchase. I work part time in River Island. Not sure if this is a blessing or a curse. I might stay fashionable but it definitely doesn't help my bank balance! These little booties I felt were justified. They go with so many outfits and are so comfy!! I love the fringe detailing and the aztec print is very current.

Let me know what you think guys :)

SALE!

October is generally the month dedicated to the mid season sale and this year is no exception. Shops all over the high street have decided that a proportion of their stock is past it and therefore fit for the scrap heap. This may sound harsh but that's the world of fashion unfortunately. Ever changing and evolving, style is transient.

Style is also unique which is why a garment marked down to ten euro might seem useless, a true fashionista will turn this to her advantage. Customising is all the rage at the moment. Shortening a hem, cutting up your jeans to make shorts or simply borrowing a basic white shirt from your boyfriend's wardrobe can transform an outfit.

River Island and Topshop are two stores I have noticed are great for bargain buys during sale time. From the designer look shoes and bags in River Island to the gorgeous Freedom jewellery in Topshop you are guaranteed to pick up something.

Of course it is only the dedicated followers of fashions that are prepared to trawl through he sale rails whilst being elbowed and nudged by eager bargain hunters. If you are an experienced sale-goer you will know exactly what I'm talking about. You will also know that your persistence will pay off if you are prepared to face the chaos that is sale time! Mark my words shoppers... there are treasures to be found.
